monday: today i worked on a four page brochure for the equal rights amendment. the task force i belong to is trying very hard to get the AZ house and senate to have majority democrats so that we can get the ERA passed in our state, as well as getting support for extending the timeline to sign it into the constitution now that virginia has made it the 38th and last state necessary to add the amendment. we will be focusing on three legislative districts to try to turn them blue.

assignment: your icon in charcoal. well, and i don’t really have any icon, or worship anyone, so i decided to do AN icon, the venus of willendorf. i have been fascinated by her forever.

jake and i were in france and we went to the Muséum d’histoire naturelle de Nice. as i was walking along the vitrines, i spotted her. i was amazed, bewildered, excited… then i read the fine print. she was a replica, the original is in vienna. i took her picture anyway, and this is the base for my icon painting. here i am googly-eyed over her.
