wednesday: after talking to my sister-in-law about ken burns new series “the national parks” i knew i had some maps of them. i put these together with some text from an old children’s reader that talks about birds and dogs and bears. i added the wildlife conservation stamps and then transferred a tree on each one.
i have such mixed feelings about our national parks, nature’s glory. land that was not ours for the taking, land that was just claimed by american presidents. how do we justify that while appreciating nature in all its beauty? how do we now stop the destruction of our parks?
we are on a slippery slope.
